The last episode of My Girl really caught on my nerves. it jolted me into this romantic mood for the whole day, really. No worries, I wasn't dying to get a bf, I was fantasizing about the male lead :P

Am going to melbourne nxt week. There are really a lot of things that needs to be done before melbourne which is next wednesday. I think I'm excited. Only I got excited a month before when we had news about our trip to melbourne and now the excitement's dying out.

But still...

ITS A WELL NEEDED HOLIDAY!

I am suddenly aware of this long-forgotten blog. Though I doubt there are any avid readers of it. A short absence shouldn't do much harm. wouldn't do much harm.

Lit video. Lit video. Lit video.

Hopefully we'll get it done. Hopefully it'll be good. I can't exactly say that it's GOOD but it's REASONABLE. I'm sure we can cough out something for those eager to review our movie...something artsy fatsy. um...that's what lit is about isn't it? Complicate things. I'm the expert.

It's tribune breaktime now. I stank of vinegar. Why? Because I smartly shook the chem bottle, mouth of the bottle facing my face. If I chronicle my vinegar-stinking-stunt, would koh give me sympathy marks? <strike>I desperately need it</strike>

For once I see lichen doing something constructive for tribune. To tell the truth, I sorta forget about it.

Okay, a recount of this splendid day. Today is Saturday, on this beautiful morning the birds were chirping, it was a breezy day and...I spent it in SCHOOL. wow! Lemme teach you how I did it. I sat in the Amphitheatre and watched my school celebrate FOUNDER'S DAY. I'm not complaining about Founder's Day, I'm complaining about the TIMING. What happened to five-day work weeks? Flew out the window? Hur? So some people just decide that ohhh, saturday is a nicer day than friday therefore we'll hold founder's day on saturday and get the whole school back to watch the celebrations. I love Founder's Day. But why saturday? ARGH.

The concert was quite okay. Though I think the quality dipped from last year. The founder's day song could have been better chosen though i think cat did a SPLENDID job of singing. And giving credit to the others who sang the theme song of founder's day, not the choir people. They sang surprisingly well too. I was ready to shut my eyes and try to pretend i didn't hear a thing, but i didn't need to. That was the only thing that exceeded my expectations of it. Okay, rephrase, i didn't even expect it so...

And then? I have to stay back for class exco meeting. a CERTAIN teacher had seriously too much to say. i can summarize whatever she wanted to put across in a 15-minute session without the need for powerpoint or wad bloody handout. haizz....

YEA! I GOT BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN! the book i mean. I have this grave gut feeling that the book might be better than the show but..ah well...i'm already in love with jake gyllenhaal! he looks better than heath ledger, but heath ledger sounds more matured, and thinks before he shoots (as inferred from the oprah interview). yes and during the interview, anne hathaway just decided she wasn't going to use her head and shoot like some wild rifle, words i mean not bullets. sounds very much like the rodeo geek she played. ANNIE PROULX! ENNIS AND JACK!

I swoon.

Hehe, how long haven't I posted? Decided that it would make up decent content for a blog entry. Especially for Li Chen and Brenda. Well, for starters, I am absolutely delighted that I didn't get Evil Overlord for an interviewer. I fear the questions. the questions <strike> and the predicted incessant teasing to follow</strike out>. not that Brenda was any better. Like choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. Never mind that. Worse was, there was qianyi and it just made it hard to decide whether to be serious and formal or to start laughing like in an informal conversation. (Note to brenda: your laughing at my answering of one question didn't help dear, not at all.)

Well, Brenda did get me decently pissed, pissed enough to be able to ignore her existence for a reasonable portion of the interivew. Qianyi was much nicer to look at seeing as she didn't know me too well yet, and wouldn't bully me that fast yet. Speaking of Brenda, I can't say she did the thing that pissed me off single-handedly. Her accomplices were devilish -- I shan't name the gang. It's universal knowledge. Affects her mood occasionally. Essentially, I'm helping out with basic stuff; dishes; mopping; wiping; hanging up laundry. But i'm working round the clock to cater to her temper tantrums. She generally finds something to scream about on bad-hair days and in this area, my gut sense proves extraodinarily accurate. Bad day--wakes up real early to help bring my dog for a walk. does the dishes after breakfast. brings the laundry upstairs and puts it in the respective places. mops the floor. wipes the <strike>forever clean</strike> piano. Good day--sleep in. dawdle with the com. do a slight bit of housework. watch my weepy lil' dramas and cry my tear ducts 0ut.

Finished the Handmaid's tale day before yesterday. what a terrible read. It was really torturing. Every page, Offred is lamenting. complaining. weeping. crying. Oh damn. So naggy women isn't just a thing of today. And plus those lurid scenes. The Ceremony <strike>and the unofficial ceremonIES</strike>. I'm so going to be looking forward to Lit class. I wanna see how the teacher explains that bit. Read it aloud to us? Or play a tape? The animations are so darn cool. I nearly pee-ed in my pants when that zombie-ish gurl (supposedly a native of the island) came out and began screaming when Carl Denham (Jack Black) tried to give her a chocolate. Whoa, chill! Choc won't kill! Somehow the T-rex fighting bit didn't seem the climax of the show to me, somebody leaked it out, Kong killed the T-rex by breaking its jaw. So it wasn't surprising. A bit disgusting, yes. And when Jack Driscot and gang dropped into a pit of giant insects! Damn! I hate insects. And when they become giant, they don't get no better. Huge slugs, Huge flying beetles, Huge mosquitoes (i bet singaporeans would survive in the jungle, we love insect repellents don't we???), Huge gorilla, Huge lizard. No huge human though. Funny.

Got invited to a church camp this monday. Been bugging me every year to join the church camp, this year i finally joined. it was fun. and would have been more fun if ppl din't noe i came from rgs. damn it. after they knew about the fact that i'm a rafflesian, they decide that i can't relate to any other topic except academics or the IP programme. AWWW MANNN!!! It's the hols! I am most apologetic for my long absence from the blogging community. In truth, I have found myself busying with the most unimportant subjects , thereby causing an indiscriminate waste of time and the inability to reappear online to amuse readers with my previously (most probably) horrendous English. Now that I have vacated an invaluable portion of good minutes to spend on my little rhetoric, I shall make it a worthy piece of writing. Perhaps, to start it off, a little summary of my doings for the past week or so that I have been absent. In this course of time, I have had the privilege of accompanying my most honoured family to a few movies (to be exact, two), The Legend of Zorro and Oliver Twist. Personally, I find a man jumping around wearing a ridiculous mask with a pretty wife entertaining whilst the story of a young orphan being manhandled and passed around like a football from an orphanage, to a thieves' den, to a wealthy book-enthusiast would perceive to be a much more insightful piece of art. Of course, the action is always delightful as Zorro easily throws rebels of the 18th century England off a bridge, or in another instance, ties them to a fast-speeding train which eventually crashes into a rock cliff. The bantering in the show is also unforgettable and undoubtedly silly. Perhaps, the Orbis Unum of that time has become the Jihadists of this time with a common goal in focus -- destroy the country that lies in the west. As for the tale of Oliver Twist, it has never ceased to delightful, be it in the past decade or now. 'Young Oliver', as they choose to call him, can be nicknamed the most pitiful orphan in England during the time he lived. Or so they say. Truth be said, he was not all that unlucky, albeit the time he was shot in the arm. For those who are familiar with the cast and characters of this classic, I would say Nancy faced the worst of it all. He was always fed, if not quite enough, but he always had food. Even with the thieves, he had bread and cheese. Honestly, I would rather live like Oliver Twist than be denied the chance to live to the end of my age.

[The terrible lot of very 'English' English above is as inspired by Kazuo Ishiguro. God, he's Jap but his book is TOO english, with that english pride and arrogance and the manner and way he speaks. Sheesh! But the accent of printed words is so frigging strong! It's like you can hear him talking into your ear with that detestable slur of English. Jesus! It's infectious!]

Okay, am tired of trying to better my English to match Mr Ishiguro's standard.

Had a really lovely time entertaining myself with Kim's blog [and of course, her 'hate' blog]. Pity she still doesn't get why the other blog's admin is teasing her so bad. She never changes does she? Well, if someone ever decided to annotate the contents of my blog, I doubt it would be error-free either. I've seen numerous spelling errors in my previous entries. And occasional grammatical errors. Sometimes it is not her fault that she makes 'English mistakes'. <strike>though the fact that she makes NUMEROUS of them is unforgiveable</strike out> :)

sixth day of a new world

This is the second post I'm logging in after the exams. Odd, it's only the second. How amazing. Before the exams I was telling myself that I would post at least three times a week. Plan fell through.

Got back SS papers and Chem papers today. Shall not talk about them. It's always habitual not to talk about things that make you sad, isn't it?

I'm feeling damn poetic for no rhyme or reason. and it's not because I'm looking at scenery. In fact, what I'm staring at right now is making its tedious way up the very-smooth trunk of the over-grown palm tree. I fear for it's life. Sounds very much like I'm waiting for it to drop off. Sadist. Like the woman who was watching the linesman.

What else is there outside the window? My neighbour's frontyard. The one with a French father and a Chinese mother and two little pretty girls who always have their hair in two ponytails. Today, they're not out. They're toys ae there. The little tit-tat bicycle, a large pair of blue slippers and two pairs of pink barbie slippers lined side-by-side neatly. They have an elder daughter. She comes home occasionally. In fact, the woman with her father is not her mother. She lives with her mother apparently. But it seems her mother is Chinese too. She has pretty black hair and those deep 'angmoh' type of eyes. She always brings her friends. big groups of French guys and girls who dunno how exactly to get to the main road to take a taxi. They're nice. Their daughters are darn pretty. They have a nice little garden and nice little dog. the neighbour on the left is waging war with us. They have a huge golden retriever that keeps barking in the middle of the night and pisses my Dad off. they park their huge SUV outside our gate, so it sorta blocks out path. My Dad had it out with them the other day. Terrible matter.

fifth day of a new world

Finally. Finally. It's all over.

I'm at home, lazing around, suddenly finding myself at a loss for what to do. I planned everything out the minute the exams begin, I knew what I was going to do after the exams, problem is, I don't know what to do first. Now I'm at a loss. I finished the long-standing Korean drama. Oh my oh my was it sad. Well they still got back. But the girl was handicapped. SHEESH. anyway, korean dramas gotta have one of the lovers die or get hurt or disabled for it to be nice. SADIST ME. Mebbe I should continue with FUll House. Haha, Brenda's going to be shouting.

Oh well. I'm celebrating, my brother is still mugging. Ah well...you couldn't use the term 'mugging' on him, he never 'mugs'. Mum forces him to 'mug'. The irony of it. He's complaining, trying to find everybody possible drip of precious time to play with lego. Can you believe it? his exams are next week and he still wants to build his silly multi-coloured square boats with stupid figurines (their mouths tend to be black on the inside). And watch cartoon network. Sheesh. Mum literally has to lock him in and lock the t.v., the com, the lego box out. sigh.

Yesterday, he (my brother, that is), visited the doctor, just to sorta give a bit of a checkup on the cyst he removed last year. And the nurse went through the routine question-and-answer session before he went in.
Nurse (asking my Mum, not my brother): "Is he allergic to any drugs?"
Before Mum can reply...brother goes: "Mummy! I don't take drugs, you know!"
He simply sent the whole clinic laughing. And just the other day, he was trying to explain to his tuition teacher that Mum had made reservations at a restaurant so he had to end on the dot, on time so we could go for a nice lunch. (Okay, not 'we', I substituted the lunch with Burger King with an idiot sitting beside me, now why did i do that?) Guess what he told the tuition teacher?
"My Mum made a renovation at the restaurant." My, my, my brother has a lot to learn in phonetics. Oh yes...and another thing...he was trying to explain the 'domino effect'. Ah well....he watches a lot of T.V, watches a lot of adverts, follows my Mum to the supermarket when ever she needs to buy stuff so he said..."Dynamo Effect". A little walking advertisement for Dynamo.

sixth day of the new world

Bio spa is over. and i am sorta free of that worry that's been bugging me for the past weeks.

Today brings a new advancement in the supposed 'RPG' played out by Parvati Patil, Severus Snape, Lord Lichy-mort, Padma Patil and Blaise Zabini. Lichen is my FATHER. anyway...lichen i must say you are a very greedy version of Lord Voldemort...and Zabini is simply...simply HORRID.

lalalala...in the most recent letter to Mah'rie, i finally added in my own contribution, albeit a TOO SHORT letter. but ahh...i would do anything to stop lichen from smirking when she sees that my name is not among the addressees in the letters to Monkey:) Oh yea, but the most recent letter contains confidential info that Lichen is FORBIDDEN to read. I believe Cat would know what i'm talking about.

Boook i'm reading for this week: On Beauty by Zadie Smith. YES!!! my mum decided that it was good I was reading more mature books, so, she bought it for me! yeah. but haven't really found the time to read it. it's quite interesting, albeit the mention of a few ahem....vulgarities.

Had a lovely dinner with rice, some dunno-wad-it's-called vegetable and another dish of dunno-wad-it's-called fish with dunno-wad-it's-called soup. did i say it was a lovely dinner? yes, it was a lovely dinner.

Ok...this is the third time I am actually typing this post and presently wondering whether it WILL get through. YEs, the last few times my computer jammed, the window shut on me and i didn't save the frigging changes

Ah well...RS is getting all messy and jumbled up. First, we were supposed to go to BangKok and present our report to the officials there for official implementation after which we would refine the report and bring it and present it in GENEVa at the GENEVA CONVENTION. ok, don't laugh. Obviously, since I'm still in SIngapore and not typing in Europe, Plan A didn't work out. Then Plan B. I must say our Plan B was the most realisitic and simple plan of all. We were supposed to work with the OSL team who was heading for SRI Lanka and aid them in the collection of items and blah. Okay, number one, we never got around to the nitty-gritty of the plans, OSL arranged most of the stuff themselves and whatever could be drained out of the school with regards ot tsunami donations was drained by ODAC, OSL and the Prefect's tsunami aid committee. SO technically, my RS was just enjoying the nice air-conditioning and food in the Career Guidance Centre. Then Sri Lanka was declared dangerous for relief workers. Our plan went down the toilet bowl. Plan C, go to Maldives in cooperation with Youth Challenge. THat would make it my first visit to the Maldives, the supposed beach where most celebrities liked to go. And it was hit by tsunami. which made it an ideal spot for us to go there and do our field research and hopefully get more manpower next year to go there for OSL and help out at the orphanages. Haha...that went poof too, Maldives costs a frigging TWO THOUSAND SING DOLLARS minus food, and minus travel. Solely airfare and budget hotel alone cost so much. Goodbye, Maldives. Now, it's a trip to Khao Lak. It's the easiest and VERY CHEAP. the budget airline fare is not above 300dollars plus airport tax. lodging is under 300dollars for six nights, breakfast included. No beachfront hotels though. Tsunami fear is in the air. And Khao LAk was VERY BADLY HIT, and Youth CHallenge has the contacts. oh PLEASE FOR ONCE LET THE PLAN WORK!!!

oh man...what am i doing? i should be mugging really. there's a biology SPA tomorrow and a chem formative. and the EOYs around the corner. I should stop. Stop blogging. If my mum sees this, my head will go flying.

fourth day of the new world

i think my computer is warped. tERRIBLY warped. it now opens every single website in chinese. for example, now i'm having my blog account with chinese headings and i open google in chinese. damn it. my com is rebelling against me.

i don't dare to open greatestjournal. i've made booboos. and whipped cream coming from cows that have been whipped. really that scene would have outraged animal activists. either way, it seemed like roald dahl penned down his dreams of a choc factory into one book. it was like he was charlie bucket. and he was willy wonka. the best bit of it all is, willy wonka is a child in a man. a man who behaves like a child. every child's dream. literally. i bet children feel belittled by large and mature adults. so...roald dahl created an adult very much like a kid, someone who would appeal to kids as one of their own kind. it's very interesting really, the way these minds work. sigh...

Today Ndp celebrations. i could say it was the most memorable one and purposeful one i had. i helped the old folks. well, i couldn't really speak to most of them because they spoke cantonese. but they all put up a smile. even though they couldn't understand me. they still smiled. and laughed. and clapped to the song. and laughed at SOMEBODY's screaming. shall not have too many overtones in my words.

second day of the new world

i think the choir concert ROCKED

though the seats were lousy RIGHT IN FRONT i was kissing the performer's feet

though i was paranoid of someone sticking their hand through the little gap in the ground and grabbing my foot

though leonora was groaning over her inability to understand the japanese song (leonora, admit it. you'r lousy)

it was nice

and cat sang real well. her voice is so jazzy. i love it. especially when she sung 'lean on me' in her busking group. that was good.

i should have paid three dollars more. i really should. and i now regret it. Cat, you were right

i think the world is loveless. and i think msn love is crap. bullshit. it does not exist. this is what happens when people are desperate. and are cowards. they hide behind a mask that is the msn. they dare not show their faces. but they're language is flowery beyond words. therefore, it's a glib tongue from a person who lacks a face. and i despise these people. especially those who feign love simply because they yearn for the attention that they otherwise would not get in the real world with their real face. ass holes.

it is not neccessary for readers to take note of the above paragraph which is simply to allow me a little space to vent the neccessary anger i have in me.

It's a new world, it's a new day

Today...just finished literature PT. it's like putting a tick on the checklist. and it went bad. sigh...I FORGOT MY LINES! that's so sad. and i had to like modify to make up for the strangling silence. i kept trying to mantain eye contact with brenda and tried to tell her to move on. and lichen kept muttering under her breath. problem is, i CANT REMEMBER no matter what. so lichen, that wasn't very useful. and SHEESH! there was no five pound note which i was supposed to give to Doolittle, so had to use some odd drawing of a duck on a square piece of paper. only those in front actually saw what it was so...not so bad yet. but my lines went wrong that bit was really obvious cause i tried to cover it up with stupid comments. like..."So where were we? Five pounds, i think you said." that was dumb. that was SO DUMB. all in all, i'm depressed. oh yea, my housekeeper did a good job in the gesturing and stuff :)

i'm watching another soppy korean drama. the one thats showing on channel u. got a really ugly cast, as in the main characters are really ugly but the plot is very good. it's like the side characters that are really good-looking. sigh...

what else do i have to say? nothing. ahh lame. oh, i should type out what i wrote during english. it's like doodling in prose form. unfortunately dunt have the book with me now, so i'll type it in another time later.

oh my god, the guy just dumped the girl. oh fine.
